The UK hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October–13 November 2021. With COP26 finished, and the climate emergency still hitting the headlines, most of us are keen to know how we can do our bit to help.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with words like ‘crisis’ and ‘emergency’ (rightly) being used to describe the current status. That’s why GRIT decided to join Ecologi. Founded by a group of environmentalists in Bristol, Ecologi was started in 2019, who were feeling frustrated with not being able to contribute enough to the climate crisis.
In April 2021, GRIT were introduced to the Ecologi movement by our marketing agency partners over at The Fountain Partnership. In the past eight months GRIT has so far offset 90.08 tonnes of CO2e – equivalent to 270m2 of sea ice saved, and planted 1,325 real trees in our forest.
GRIT’s managing director and founder, Peter Whitmore is delighted to be part of the Ecologi community: “The Covid-19 pandemic was – and continues to be – a tragedy, from which much must be learned. As it trudges on and ushers in the Great Reset and a new world with which we must all become familiar and learn to navigate, it’s easy to forget to find time for the other causes and things that matter to us the most. Step in, Ecologi; a simple, affordable way to do right by yourself, your family, friends, peers, and of course, planet Earth.
We were thrilled to sign up to find climate solutions and find out that for a relatively small fee, we could carbon offset our entire team both in terms of their work and personal lives, including through reforestation projects right here in the UK.
It was exciting to tell our team what we’d done and see their reaction. It’s surprisingly affordable for even the smallest or least profitable of companies, so please visit https://ecologi.com to find out more.
Together, we really can sow the seeds of change.”
