Starlight Walk website across multiple devices

GRIT first worked with Macmillan back in 2011 alongside London art, tech and social play agency Art Public. We created an interactive map of the UK which changed in real-time as people tweeted across the country with hashtag #coffeemorning, to denote that they were discussing or running one of Macmillan’s well-established annual fundraiser coffee mornings.

More recently, GRIT was commissioned to create a new website for its annual Starlight Walk event.

Whilst a fun and friendly website was key to the brief, it was also essential that the website came with an easy-to-use and functional CMS to record event participants and donations.

The website was carefullly and seamlessly integrated with JustGiving.com to allow participants to register for the event and pay their registration fees online. Those who wished to donate were also able to do so.

GRIT have been a pleasure to work with from day one. They were extremely professional, excited by our project, enthusiastic and full of ideas. They even produced us an email marketing template we didn’t ask for to try and help raise awareness and improve the number of participants to the event.

The website was a great success and for the first time enabled participants to register online, or in the event they couldn’t partake in the event, to share it with their friends and family on Social Media and to make a donation.

We were so pleased with GRIT that we’re engaging them again this year to refresh the website once more and to co-promote the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) charity with whom we’ll be splitting money raised for to celebrate the 10th year of the event.
