What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was created by the European Union and is being implemented by the UK government. It is designed to replace previous Data Protection laws and, as a part of that, to protect individuals’ data privacy.

How can we help?

We can’t write your GDPR policy for you, but we can help you take the first steps with your website. GRIT are offering an audit of your site to identify areas where personal data is stored, to help you towards your Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA). In addition to this, we can also help you identify the best option for obtaining consent; this can take the form of ‘opt-in’ checkboxes for marketing purposes and also for the cookies used on your site.

Why?

GDPR is geared towards the protection of personal data, with hefty fines for non-compliance. Above and beyond that, consider how you’d feel if your data was stolen or misused – identity theft and fraud all stem from the misuse of data.

When?

The law comes into effect on May 25th, 2018.

How much?

GRIT has a couple of solutions for your site starting from:

£240+VAT – Data Assessment Audit
£280+VAT – Cookie Controller *

* Includes a third-party fee (payable directly to them) and Installation costs (payable to GRIT). Cost given is for the first year only and then £39+VAT per annum payable directly to third-party thereafter.
